Configuration Overview

UmmItOS ships with its apps pre-configured. You can change any of them; the main areas are below.

The Quickshell shell: bar, launcher, notifications, lock screen and more

Configure system information display in terminal

Configuration files location

All UmmItOS configuration files live in:

Main config: ~/.config/ (all application configs)
Hyprland: ~/.config/hypr/hyprland.lua plus the ~/.config/hypr/hyprland/*.lua modules
Shell settings: ~/.config/ummitos/ — recording.conf, and (on the development branch) privacy.conf, bar.conf, plus a sounds/ folder of swappable sound links

As of v1.0.0-rc1, Hyprland is configured in Lua (hyprland.lua and hyprland/*.lua modules), not the old hyprland.conf.

Monitors default to their highest refresh rate (the highrr mode).
